Put the boot lid on last night. Had no trouble getting the hinges with
the springs attached. Well only a little. I had the lid shut and I
hear this sound of a spring giving way and flying through my trunk. I
looked inside expecting to see dents everywhere. What I found was the
left hinge, bereft of its attachment below the drain channel. The spot
welds had failed. Anybody had this problem? I intend to drill out the
welds and replace them with stainless screws and nuts.
