Gearbox/Overdrive leak

I have a minor oil leak on my Series V, which I have taken to be between
the gearbox and the overdrive although I am not too sure now. I have put
up with this for over 27 years now by placing a drip-tray under the car
in the garage and very periodically topping-up the gearbox. Being an
impatient sort, I finally became fed up and resorted to doing something
about it, whilst replacing the exhaust with a stainless system.
On examination however it is not at all clear where the leak is coming
from, although it is definitely from one of the two units.
Has anyone got any ideas as to where the problem might be? Is this a
common one? There are no cracks in any housings, the drain plugs are
all tight and the oil drip is quite clean and materialises on the
Overdrive pump/drain plug nuts.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
