Tires for Wires

Hello There,

I'm going out on a limb: I'm going to try driving a Series I using wire
wheels and modern tires. I would like a *modest* performance tire, if such
a thing exists. What makes this interesting is that my car was converted to
a Ford V-6 (not by me), keeping the Series I rear end. Currently it has an
automatic, but I hope to remedy that in the next year or so.

  * Anybody wanting to sell a suitable manual transmission (Capri V6-mating)
is welcome to approach me, or refer me to someone who wants to sell one in
good shape.

This will be my first road-going Alpine, and I don't expect to drive with
a lead foot. Handling is much more important to me than ultimate speed; the
car will probably see less than 2,000 miles per summer, mostly on the
highway, and no bad weather use.

  * Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

  Thank you for your time.

  Best,

  David Kellogg
