supercharger

I am looking to see if anyone on this list has ever considered, tried, or
completed putting a small Paxon type supercharger on an Alpine.
Will the motor hold together?
I have spoke to a Manufacture of surerchargers and he said after putting
one on and tuning on a dyno, I could expect a 50-80 hp increase.
all this for a mere $1,500.00.
