Travel warning for Alberta

There hasn't been much mail lately on the Alpine site, so here's
something somewhat amusing to consider if you are planning to travel to
Alberta sometime soon (such as to the Alberta All British Motor Meet in
Edmonton on June 19th.).

The Alberta government department of Fish and Wildlife is advising
hikers, campers, hunters, and any persons that use the out-of-doors in a
recreational or work related function to take extra precautions while in
the field.
They advise outdoorsmen to wear little noisy bells on clothing so as to
give advanced warning to any bears that might be close by so you don't
take them by surprise. They also advise everyone to carry a can of
Pepper Spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.

You should also be on the watch for fresh bear activity, and be able to
tell the difference between black bear shit and grizzly bear shit.
Black bear shit is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel
fur. Grizzly bear shit has little bells in it, and smells like pepper.
