The intake and exhaust valve placement is identical between the II and the
V. The problem I had was that I had a cam from a cast iron head Rootes
engine which does have a reversed valve order on the 2 and 3 cylinder. Feel
free to run a Series V head on a series II engine. What you do have to watch
out for is matching up the cam and the oil pump as they changed the drive
gear for the Series V.

Subject: Series V head vs. Series II head
Early last week there was discussion that there is a difference between the
SII head and SV head in terms of the intake and exhaust valve position on
the #2 and #3 cylinders.
Basically, if I understand this correctly, you cannot run a SV head on a
SII without changing the cam to match the SV head.
Is this true?
Thanks
