I don't know if I'd assume that. On a Hillman page written by Jan Eyerman
(sp?), Jan claims that the new Rootes cars of 1968 (probably equipped with
Stromberg 150CDSE's) had great difficulty passing the then-current U.S. smog
limits, which delayed introduction here of the Arrow range. Pre-'68 limits
could turn out to be just as big a hassle for 35 year- old cars using 35
year-old carbs.
