Pos. or Neg. Ground

John,

        Just connect a battery up using POS ground and don't turn anything on. Try
your headlights and watch the ammeter. If the ammeter goes to the minus
side (-), your car is Pos. ground. If the ammeter goes to the POS (+) side
(showing a charge) your car is Neg. ground and you have to reverse the
battery connections.
