Kelly, the engine number should be stamped on the right hand side (looking
from the driver's seat) on a long flat part. This number is the same
number that was assigned to the car as its VIN. If you could get those
numbers and post them, we could tell you what type of car and series of
Alpine (if they were from an Alpine) they were from, including what cc they
are. The 1725 has a 5 bearing crank and the 1500 and 1600 engines have 3
bearing cranks. So you could also count the crank bearings to see
generally which one it is. But, you will need the VIN to know exactly what
car.
