Up and running again

Well, after much frustration and $500 later, I am up and running again.

I can't say that I felt the sense of elation that I experienced on the
first go around, but I am happy that the car is running well. I must
say that it's perfomance feels quite different from the first time. It
feels as if it has gobs of power around 3000 rpm and it just wants to
scream into the higher revs. I have been exercising a great deal of
restraint, not wanting to damage the engine during break-in and also
out of fear and apprehension.

So, it looks as if I will be making it to SUNI after all. To be
honest, on Saturday I had decided that I wouldn't be going. I was
having trouble getting the car to run right for days. I could not seem
to work the problem out despite my best efforts and the advice of many
friends (thanks, Jarrid). But thank God for Dan Walters, who kindly
came to my house after the CAT swap meet and managed to fix my car in
less than an hour. He didn't even want me to pay him (I did anyway)!!!
Now that's a class act. I just love fellow car enthusiasts. They're
a great bunch of people.

I am looking forward to exchanging stories and cracking a few brews
with many more wonderful folks at SUNI in just a few weeks. I also
look forward to showing off my pride and joy and hanging out with
stupid shadetree mechanics like me who can't get their car to run right
because they messed up the plug wires and never bother to check the
obvious. The pinnacle of stupidity!!

Christopher
