You just struck a nerve on the tranny swap because I am interested in
gathering information on this subject and create a page on the
sunbeamalpine.org site so everyone can benefit. I have priced used T-5
transmissions from the bone yard and they typically sell for $400 and
more. It looks like the New Zealand approach is a reasonable, good buy
for the money for a bolt-on "kit". If anyone has performed transmission
swaps like this (and willing to share the information on how to do it),
please forward me the information and I will author a web page and put
it on the sunbeamalpine.org web site.
