It Stops!

Well I finally figured out my brake problem. It turns out that the little
metal spacer thing that was fused to my old master cylinder was a part that
I needed to use with the new master cylinder. After I pried it off and
bolted it in behind the master cylinder, the brakes started working
correctly. The reason why my front calipers were not releasing was because
the brake pedal was reaching the end of it's travel limit before the brake
piston had reached the end of it's travel length.

With that solved and the replacement of the 100% water in the cooling system
with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze, I was off. The engine ran flawlessly, the
brakes stopped me when they were supposed too and the temp was staying at
right around 170. The day was one of those perfect days that remind me why I
live in Vermont. It was in the mid 70s just the right humidity and the
mountains were so green that they almost hurt your eyes. I was in heaven.
All the hours spent in the garage in utter frustration were all paid off in
a few hours of touring the back roads of Northwest Vermont.

OK, now on to those pesky brake lights, the nonfunctional turn signal stick,
the nonfunctional overdrive, the nonfunctional horn........

Later all,
Kurt
