The system to which you speak is most likely the electromotive Tech3.

It is laptop programable, and allows you to set your own curve.

Few racing orgs will allow its use, except for contemporary racing.

This system is overkill for most ignition needs, but van be handy
to dial in all the ignition based improvements you can get.

I have a friend who distributes for electromotive.
