I'm SO excited! My rear hubs just popped right off!
I mentioned long ago that I obtained a rear hub puller from Ed Esslinger
at the Tigers East/Alpines East (TE/AE)annual meeting. I am embarassed
to say this was in Orlando and I think it was two years ago.
For those familiar with his puller (see July, 1996, Rootes Review
newsletter), I made one minor modification to it by drilling and
threading a hole in the center of the puller and adding a large threaded
screw which makes contact with the axle. I installed the puller, torqued
down the lug nuts to approximatley 60 pounds and bingo, off pops the
hub.
Now, my next task is to get long bolts to attach the puller to the rear
axle with knockoff wire wheels. Hopefully, this will do the trick here
also. Wish me luck!
