front wheel/fender clearance

I am running 195x60x14 tires on VBs minilite replica wheels and
visually, the distance between the top of the front tire and the inner
fender lip (approx 4 1/2 - 5") appears too
large and gives the impression that the front of the car is too high or
the rear is too low. FYI the car spent the winter jacked up - wood
blocks under front cross member = no weight on springs and axle stands
at rear. Could the front springs have stretched over the winter? Shocks
seem ok though one was temporarily stiff when the car was first taken
off blocks and stands. Other that retrofitting bolt on hubs, I haven't
done any suspension/axle work that would account for this seemingly
increased front end ride height. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
