H Steve,
from memory, during your rebuild did you get to fit new or different
selectors?
There is a cut out switch on top of the gearbox for the over-drive which
is operated by the 3rd and 4th selector. Maybe this needs adjusting as
it may effect both the over-drive cut out circuit ( usually to ensure
you do not have o/d engaged in 2nd and first) and also gear selection.
Just a thought!
Temperature should not really be a problem although we don't get enough
over here for full climate testing!!
