My dash was different from the SII's that I have seen.
I actually had the clear plastic surround that was found on SIII's .
There were no raised letters on my dash. I have to assume that this was
a stock detail since my car is a very late SII. Could have the dash been
changed at one point? Maybe, but it was a really nice car until the
mid-eighty's then it threw a rod and was left for dead.
The story has it that the owner, who distributed illegal drugs, was running
from the police when the rod went...it was impounded by the towing company
and the owner never claimed it (imagine that, probably he was occupied with
the DOC or something). I came across it in the early nighties, paid the
storage fee(agreed price) and had it ever since.
I am sure there is a moral to this story...
