What is the purpose of a ballast resistor normally attached to the coil
on early Alpines? My S2 does not have one or has it built into the coil.
I have been having problems with the Pertronix Ignition system and am
thinking if their is any correlation between the car not starting,
Pertronix, and lack of ballast resistor. Brent Kasl
