Congratulations on your new car! The tachometer connections should be
checked and if it persists the caps and thermister should be replaced. That
will cure the problem. As for gas in the oil....it could be from over rich
carburetion, a leaky fuel pump diaphram or just old contaminated oil....or
worst case...blowby (past rings) contaminating the oil . Before buying a new
fuel pump ..take the old one loose from the motor and pump it a few times to
build pressure and see if gas leaks from the back where the actuating arm
is..... I would start to pursue the problem by changing the oil first,
checking the plugs and compression while you have them out to see if a rich
condition exists and finally the fuel pump. Good luck
