Rest assured, they already have all those holes cataloged and identified
(along with various bumps, welds and shapes) so that they can confirm if
you have Alpine holes or Tiger holes.

My series 3 had both - with no apparent rhyme or reason. I suspect some of
the holes may have been location points for the assembly jigs on the
factory
line, but that's just a guess.
We should now launch a massive inquiry with the Tiger people as to where
rubber and metal plugs should go, should they have factory fingerprints on
them, color, etc.

I think Ramon is right. I asked this same question months or even years
ago. No one had an answer. I will note that on one of my cars the holes
were filled in with welded in metal plugs, on the other, they were filled
in with rubber caps/boots. I forget now which of the SV or S3 had which.
