HELLO LISTFOLK,
I'm going to be traveling through the South, and am looking forward to
seeing Listers along the way. Starting Monday the 16th, after picking up my
1960 Series I, I'll be passing through central and southern Kentucky
(Louisville particularly) and then to Asheville, NC for a [gulp] Volvo Meet,
to which I will perversely take my Alpine! (Heh heh) Then on through NC to
Virginia and up the East Coast through MD, PA, NJ and CT.
The car will be new to me, and though I plan a careful check-up and
twice-over nut & bolt, I may need touchstone(s) along the way.
1) Can anybody suggest a trustworthy mechanic(s) who is familiar with
Alpines anywhere along this route?
2) Is there anybody I really shouldn't miss as I go, either for their
personality or their car(s)? [I'm planning to see Tiger Tom, and hopefully
Dave Lawler in PA; if time permits, Wally Swift in MD]
3) Do you know specifically of anybody racing Alpines on or near my
route? Autocross, road race, time trial, or hillclimb? also anyone with a
V-6 Alpine (Alix)?
Thanks *very much* for your thoughts toward this matter. When I return,
around the end of August, I'll let you know how it went.
By the way, I'll be away from the computer after Sunday the 15th, but will
be available by phone en route at (603) 862-8808 [NB: this is a cell phone
for the trip, VERY SIMILAR NUMBER to the message-only number below].
Safe Beaming, and
Cheers,
David Kellogg E-mail or (781)631-3165/ (603) 463-8808 for messages
