Gauze vs dry element Carb specs

The Series II was offered with both the gauze and dry element types of air
cleaners with different carb setups for the two. One reference has venturi,
main metering jet, and high speed bleed as 30, 142, and 100 for gauze and
28, 112, and 60 for dry element. Any comments on whether these mods would
be necessary/noticeable in making a change from the gauze "clod-stoppers" to
something better?

Also, I'm about to replace the leaky unoriginal, St. Louis arch styled, 14+
compression fitting pump-to-carbs fuel line. The parts manual shows a "T"
being used, but then lists it as not provided. The "T"s sold by the
Sunbeam suppliers are also not listed as applicable to the early cars.
Anyone know was was used and/or a suitable replacement? I figure the later
"T" should work fine if there's not a mismatch on tube size. The stuff I'm
replacing is 0.25" OD - is this the same as on the later series?

Thanks and regards,

Bob Douglas
