Series V window felt on door window

I have a replacement set of window felt that I purchased from Sunbeam
Specialties a while ago.

Has anybody replaced the upper vertical channel on their SV (or III, IV)?

I noticed three rivets as you look in the worn felt channel. I was
wondering if this could be as simple as drilling out the rivets, removing
the old metal channel covered in felt and then putting 3M trim adhesive on
the back of the new channel. Then slip it back into place followed by
rolling up the window to retain it till it dried.
