Thanks to all who responded to my problem with aligning my
windscreen (windshield). As purchased mine had washers and
no dash pad. It now has a dash pad which completely changed
the spacing on refit.
The response that the hard top only fits the rear by the
bitter ends of the hold down pins strikes me as the solution
to my problem. The hard tops to my car (and my parts car)
are in trash condition and everything needs work. The best
top had no hardware and the hardware on the other had to
have the heads of the bolts drilled off to remove them.
Ez-outs don't seem to be working so I will drill the bolts
out and tap them oversize.
The rear hold downs fit into a slot in the hard top. Why
not put some spacers behind them and make them extend out
another quarter of an inch from the hard top. This would
allow me to move the windshield forward a bit and make it
align with the wing windows. This seems a hell of a lot
easier than trying to align the wings by moving the bottoms
of the window guides.
Comments anyone?
