Hi Steve:
You have the same concern as many of us. Their are a couple of additional
options you may want to consider. 1) Use an early gearbox and overdrive tranny.
(You have to sacrifice the synchromesh in 1st gear). 2) Switch gearboxes and
use an example that includes the 5th gear as an overdrive.
I am opting for the tranny switch. I have a toyota supra 5 speed box that I
will install in my Series V this winter. I will keep everyone posted on the
progress.
