Actually, from looking at the chart I sent earlier, the SV gap between 2
and 3 is smaller than the gap on the SI/II/IV box. The S3 box is just
slightly smaller yet.

I have a "late" Series V box in my Series II. 25 spline in the
input/output
shafts. Seems the 1-2 and 3-4 gear split is pretty close (nice) and the
2-3
split is pretty (too) far apart.
