Chris,
     one odd thing I have found is the rubber that seperates the harmonic
balancer from the crank pully can disintegrate and allow the harmonic
balancer to "free wheel" creating all kinds of symphonic sounds. I checked
every rotating part on the car to find the source, and after 250 miles of
100% necessary driving, just happened to notice the source by chance! 15
minute repair, and now the car runs like a top, well, a top with a carb
setup that desparaitly needs new bushings!!!!! Louie
