I just finished this project for both my Le Mans and my Harrington
Alpine, both based on the Series II. The tank can be dropped once you
have removed the fuel line and the 6 or 8 bolts that thread into the
upper part of the boot. There is a spacer ring around the tank that is
held in by another 6 or 8 bolts that can be removed after the tank has
been dropped. I took my tanks to a place in Cincinnati, Ohio to be
sodiun dipped. I then had them coated at a local radiator shop. The
total cost came to 150.00 per tank. I'm not sure what you are describing
when you say "original sealent surrounding the tank lip?" - Ian
