As Ian mentioned, you need to have the tank (and spacer ring) dipped and
them seal the tank interior. If you haven't done this before, i would
just have a professional do it. However, NO SANDBLASTING. Dipping is the
best method of derusting/cleaning the gas tanks. Ian, Tiger Auto and
myself use the same shops; They are done correctly and we are enjoying
the final product. The support/spacer ring seems to fit on the tank only
one way, so I don't think you will have any alignment confusion. The
sealer was to seal out the water, and since my car is never out in the
rain, I didn't use any sealer on the two faces of that spacer ring.
Spend the money, have a pro do it, it's a no-brainer.
