fuel line question -- carb hookup

Having rebuilt the carbs on our series 3 -- Zeniths on a series 5 engine, for
what it's worth -- I want to solve the apparent fuel leak problem in the fuel
lines' attachment to the carburetors.

I don't know what the original hookup was supposed to look like, but I
suspect that the it wasn't what was in place for the last 15 years. The
current setup has brass lines and fittings, one flared, and one with a
compression fitting -- like the oil feed to the valve train. They both leak.
The compression fitting leaks more -- maybe as fast as a drip every 2
seconds -- but they both leak.

Are either of these close to right? Should there be banjo fittings on the
pipe, with a hollow bolt attaching to the carb as on webers? Should it be
double flared (out and then back in again)?

I don't have much to go on, other than the fact that what's there doesn't
work.
Help me get this one back on the road! (sitting 10 years)

Thanks!
Matt
