That was me with the interest in that one-off fastback Alpine. Someone did
admit to me that the roof was from another production car, but would not
say which. I've looked around to see if I could figure out what car. But,
since the selection of cars driving around Los Angeles is different than
there in the UK, I'm not sure it's even here. The closest I came was some
of the early 70's Japanese cars, like the B210, Corolla etc. With a little
bit of tweeking, they might possibly be the source.
I did not realize the top was fiberglass. I actually thought He cut off a
top and used it. Note that his windshield frame is all part of the bonnet
and the roof. There is no joint or stainless pieces like on "real"
Harringtons.
His is a beautiful car. The only thing it's missing to make it one of the
greatest cars ever is the covered headlights of the LeMans winning
Harrington. If I wanted another coupe, I'd be calling him right now.
