There is a different ratio of gears in the different speedometer heads,
and there should be a different driven gear on the mainshaft of your
transmission. One the face of your speedometer, you will find a number
corresponding to the number of turns the cable makes to advance the
speedometer ahead by one mile. It is in very small print and usually near 5
o'clock. A typical number to find would be 1020. I have the specifications
for Minx, but not for Alpine, so perhaps another list reader can help further.
