Re: speedometer OD or not OD?

Being blond, I'm allowed to have a dumb day!

1. Someone on the list told me to look at 5 o'clock for numbers. I first
looked at the clock I just purchased on eBay. DUH!

2. Then I crawled under the tarp and found two gauges. One went to 60 and
the other to 120. I said to myself, this car probably only goes 60 miles
an hour so that must be the speedometer. Double DUH!!

After several kind listers pointed out to me that I was looking at the
tach, I have relooked at (hopefully) the right gauge and the numbers are:
SN6117/02 980. My car was built during the week of July 22, 1961, has an
OD on the English ID plate but not on the French ID plate, and the gauges
have never been taken out of it. Does anyone have a list that coincides
with this information?

Also, since it's been brought up, do the numbers 3:21:1 on the tach mean
that these are my gear ratios?

Meanwhile please don't vote me off the list! I'm sure I'll have more dumb
days but I'm on a severe learning curve so please bear with me. I picked
the Alpine because I figured it would be the easiest car to learn on and
Babette needed me to fix her up. With your help and my perserverance, that
will happen.

Thanks again,
Kelly
