Colin, it's pull the rear hub time. I did the same thing a while back,
just could not get that new stud in with out pulling the you know what.
Hubsville. It wasn't too bad a job , rented a hub puller and it was off in
about three wacks with a big sledge hammer on the end of the puller. Leave
the center nut on but lossen it, that way it chases the threads when you
unscrew it the rest of the way, cus the wacking causes the end of the axle
to mushroom a little and you will never be able to get that nut back on.
