For someone interested in a possible alternative engine for their Alpine, I
know of a great engine for sale for an awesome price. The engine is a 2
liter, double overhead cam, cross flow head, dual Weber engine. It is a
Toyota engine using a basic Celica block and a special Yamaha head. The
engine was built for certain Japanese-only cars, but found its way to the
US shores by some hot rodders. The engine is called the 18RG. It puts out
between 120hp and 140 hp, depending upon the compression. This engine I
know of is in San Bernardino Califonia, and was pulled out of a totalled
car. The seller wants $300/$400 for it, including the Toyota tranny
attached.

There is also another Toyota engine using the same, or similar head, but is
only 1.8 liters, using the Corrolla base. I don't know of any for sale.
Just thought I'd mention it.
