I stand behind my original dash statement. Although the fact of the XVC cars has
me wondering about the early SI dash being black. I do believe that I read in the
SAOC Alpine guide that the early SI's had a black dash.
SI through SII had a silver dash.
Very late SII, built during the beginning of S3 production had black dashes.
Series IV and IV have black vinyl covered dashes.
I have owned and parted out well over 50 Alpines and still counting. I have only
seen Series I's with silver dashes. But, I believe there might be some truth to
the early ones being black. I've been looking through my material to see if I can
find where I may have seen this referenced. I could be wrong.
