Okay Listers,
Now I'll churn up the already muddy waters some more. I have 5 S1 Alpines,3
have non-stock dash boards in them. Sues S1 B9005923LRX fully restored dash
is silver it was silver when I started restoring it and had the paint color
matched up by the NAPA paint store so I have that particular color match. The
other S1 B9008060 has a black painted dash that appears to be a brownish
color originally from the bakelite.
Now for the monkey wrench to fowl things up some more. I have a S2
B9110133LRX that has a black painted dash but under the gauge areas it shows
to be silver! Now I know the dash could have been change in its life but
doubtful.
I for one would like to find out when the color change happened on the
Alpines dashboard. There are little things that we all find out about on the
Sunbeams that make it an even more interesting car to talk about. I for one
enjoy it all!!!
Dave Green 5 S1s,1 S2, 2 S4s, 2 S5s, 1 Mk 1 Tiger(keeps me broke restoring
it)!
