Paul, I believe the Armstrong Siddeley plate you are thinking of is the one
mounted on the lower part of the parcel shelf right behind the drivers seat,
when production locations were changed the plate came off, and that's when
the bonnet support rod was moved from center (firewall) to the side(fender)
and they stopped imprinting the VIN on the passenger side firewall, I think,
I think.
