Price guide

Hi,
I've been receiving a lot of e-mail from people who want to know how much their
Alpine is worth. Obviously, I can't quote a cars value without seeing it up
close, so I have been trying to give them a fair estimate of prices in all
condition to let them judge for themselves. I've been thinking about posting a
price guide on my site for people to reference from, but I've been afraid of
going down that road for obvious reasons. The only Alpine price guide I've found
on the net is at Thoroughbred & Classic Cars Web Site <
http://www.specialcar.com/priceguide/price_s.html > and it hasn't been updated
since 1996.

Firstly, How do you (the list population) feel about the price representation
at the above mentioned site? Secondly, Do you (the list population) feel that
posting a price guide would be a bad idea? Lastly, If a price guide were to be
implemented, would those of you interested be willing to help me keep the prices
up to date?

I would like to be able to provide people with the answers to their question as
helpfully and accurately as possible. I appriciate the input that the list has
to provide with this topic. I get asked this question a lot. I believe the
people asking are people who have somehow ended up with an Alpine and would like
to sell it, or are new to or wanting to buy an Alpine and aren't yet associated
with a club or the list. I believe this could be a helpful edition to my site
and as always, I appriciate the advice and input from the active list
participants. - Ian
