Did you just convert the car? If so, you need to polorize all components -
the generator and voltage regulator. In addition, ALL leads on the voltage
regulator need to be polorized. To polorize a component, make sure it is
grounded and flash (brush) a hot lead across the terminal. Otherwise, clean
your battery terminals. You can check your generator by grounding it and
applying a hot lead to the big end terminal. If it spins freely, it is
probably good. You can also look at the brushes in the back. Brush
replacement is easy and very cheap - $5 bucks or so. I hope this helps.
