What kind of Rapier are you referring to? I have had 3 Audax Rapiers,
and they use the same bellhousings as my 4 Alpines have used. Where is the
1" difference?
There is a difference between the bell housing used with a late
full-synchro and the early non-synchro transmissions, and they are two
different animals. There is a rare ribbed bell housing that was used on
series 5 Minxes, and again, it bolts right up. The ribbed housing will not
clear the firewall-to-transmission-tunnel area in an early Audax car.
The "69" Rapier/Alpine/Arrow bellhousing, is cast to allow for the slant
of the engine, and is entirely different...it is about 1" deeper than the
earlier types. Is this the one you refer to?
