Lou,
I tried the local community college route once...bad idea, at least from
my expereince. The instructor wanted his palm greased to get the job
done. We weren't talking $40.00 either. He wanted a couple grand! I also
have a friend who had a Healy 3000 at a local Joint Vocational School
for over 4 years before he got fed up and took it back.
Good advice though about the garage shops. My experience there is this.
They will do a great job on the first project you give them and the
price well be fair. The next time you use them the price goes up and the
quality goes down. So, once you find someone reliable, stick with him
and treat him well!
