David,
On my series I, my webbing was basically gone also. After much discussion and looking around, I ended up using a black nylon webbing that I located at the hardware store. As for the lenght, I bought a long piece, took out the old one, measured that, then I doubled the nylon over and cut to lenght. Works fine.

Subject: Rear suspension straps

Whilst working on my lever arm dampers I noticed that the 'strap' or
webbing between body and axle has all but disappeared. does anyone know
what length this should be? and what material? I still possess all the
fixings and pieces of material that are left beneath them but
recommendations for something that doesn't rot would be appreciated

Jerry,

Sorry, I forgot to address your question,
"Do you know if there were other methods of
mounting the speaker?"

From what I have read, it sounds like there were several different radio
options available. I know the one I have is the one that was installed by
the factory. There were others available that have different mounting setups
that were available through the dealers. I have seen some that have the
speaker mounted at an angle below the radio, others that looked like a box
sitting on the floor under the radio, and others with a box mounted under
the radio but not touching the floor. So far as the correct one from the
factory-- Good Question--the only one I know of is the one pictured in TBON
which is the same one I have. I'm sure there are others a lot more
knowledgeable than I on this subject. Can anyone on the list give us a
breakdown of what was offered by the factory and what was installed at the
dealer?
