His original problem was the car travelled as he tried to remove the nut.
The answer is simple:
If the car is in 1st. gear, the car has the mechanical advantage, the same as
the engine does when starting from a stop or starting from rest on a hill.
Put the transmission in 4th gear: have you ever tried to start from a stop in
4th gear?
This works every time.
