Hi all,
I have been working on our SV getting ready for some of the summer
events. Got a bunch of misc. used bits locally and ordered a Pertronix
and exhaust from SS. Seems the exhaust is on back order, waiting to
clear customs. The Pertronix works great, money well spent, really made
a difference in the overall way the car drives. Installation was a snap.
One of the used parts that I installed is a tachometer, which seems to
be reading about double the actual rpms, that or else the new ignition
really woke the old 1725 up. Will the adjustment compensate for a double
the actual rpm error? I also put a new/used switch in for the lights,
one that the plastic lever was not broken off. The under dash wiring has
been hacked and I am not sure what lights should be on with the switch
in its two on positions. Now, Up is off, Middle is head lights, tail
lights, and the clear lens marker lights in front on, Down is tail
lights and front markers on. Is this right, should the markers be on in
the middle position?
I also got side windows with channels, my channels were badly rusted,
soon hope to have windows that wind up and down. They came from a Tiger
donor car, hope I can still pass it off as an Alpine.
The new hipo motor is still on hold, but should have the core motor
next weekend, oh boy, can hardly wait. Thanks jim
