Anyone have a copy of this? Could there possibly be a better show to watch
in the world that contains BOTH an Alpine AND Mrs. Emma Peel? (I'd even
watch it if it was merely Tara King)

It can be difficult to find. The A&E Network paid to have all the episodes
restored about 7+ years ago, but they also cut out footage to make room for
the modern diet of commercials on their network. The Alpine sequence was cut
out entirely from "The Danger Makers."

Various Avengers/Emma Peel color episodes were re-released uncut, in
three-packs in the video market a couple years ago, but I don't believe any
of the older, black-and-white episodes (including "The Danger Makers") are
offered yet.

P.S. Actually, only the cornering sequence was speeded up as I recall, with
a bit of the usual frantic back-screen photography. The Alpine initially
leaps across a short ridge (with Emma as passenger) - definitely not sped up.

P.P.S. Somewhere out there in Web-land, there is (or was as of a year ago) a
hard-core Avengers fan site dedicated to showing the modern-day English roads
and locales where various scenes from The Avengers were shot, including the
Alpine sequence.
