OK...  I sent a note to Lance also... I have made the
conversion to a 2.8 V6 and needed more top end not
to also mention more traction.
I took out my stock Alpine rear end and bought a used 2:88 non-posi
and went drum to drum rebuild with a 3:31 Powerlock.  The only
modifications were welding a bracket to hold the panhard rod and
bushings, brake line adjustment holder on rear cover.  I looked at
shortening a Ford rear and it just wasn't worth it considering
everything.  I am very happy with this conversion as the original
2.8 with 4 speed used the 3:30 axle as stock.
