Hi Chuck, It seems we've both been tearing into our all synchro
trannies in the past months and I have a symptom looking for a solution.
I am getting oil seepage which seems to be coming from the 6 bolts that
hold down the top cover.As I recall , the bolt holes penetrate the
transmission cavity so I tried putting blue RTV on each of the bolt
threads hoping to stem the tide. Do you think this was the right thing
to do or have I set myself up for more trouble?
The car is in the shop right now and I have not run it since
applying the RTV.
