I put one on my Tiger (blasphemy!) Purchased from JC Whitney,
it's the type that has a small control panel rather than a
turn signal mount. I've used this on other cars where it has
worked well; it works so-so on the Tiger (I think it's because
the Tiger is TOO responsive for the vaccuum controlled servo
to keep up with, which makes the Tiger surge in speed sometimes).
I mounted everything under the dash, so that the only non-stock
clue in the engine compartment the vaccuum hose through the
firewall. This type of cruise control will cut off in an overrev
condition (i.e. clutch in), but I wouldn't count on that to
prevent engine damage. As Jarrid indicated, you're taking a
risk when using such a device in a manual transmission auto.
OTOH, the cruise is a godsend for us longer-legged drivers on
those all day trips...
