If you buy one specifically designed for a manual tranny, you are OK.
I put a JC Whitney one on my 5-speed Sidekick and it has a switch
which is mounted to the clutch pedal in addition to the switch for the
brake pedal. So pushing either pedal activates a cutoff switch.
Naturally this means a few more wires under the dash, but worth it
IMO.
